By far my favorite of the "Rings" films. The story is tense, epic and at the same time deeply personal. The enemies in the film create a real sense that our heroes could lose at any time.
Meanwhile the quest of Frodo is descending more and more into a personal hell. Yet hope and light are found in the most unexpected places and the brief respites the film offers are some of the most heartfelt moments in the entire trilogy.
